My mother taught me how to sew by hand when I was 6 years old.  My mother died when I was 11 so the following summer my Grandmother taught me how to cut out patterns and sew on a sewing machine  I had a very memorable summer with my Grandmother and learned everything I needed in order to make clothes.  My Grandmother was a professional seamstress and  very talented.  She would draw fashions she saw in store windows in order to create patterns for her customers.

I purchased my first embroidery sewing machine in 1995 and immediately fell in love with my Janome 5000.  A few years later, I traded up to the Janome 9000.  A few years after that, I purchased the Janome 10000 and then upgraded that to the 10001.  I started digitizing in 1996 with Janome’s digitizing software.  When I purchased my 10000, I upgraded to the professional software which made digitizing much easier.

No matter how many designs I searched for on the Internet, there were times when I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted.  The only way to obtain the exact design was to digitize it myself.  Digitizing is really quite addicting.  I can  take digital pictures from my camera and create designs from them although it is easier to use clip art, draw it in a drawing program or hand draw my design and scan it into my computer.

I realize that digitizing is not for some people so I am happy to do it for you.

I hope you enjoy my designs as much as I enjoyed digitizing them.  Keep checking back as I will be adding designs.
